LAUGHTER SEMINAR SCHEDULED MAY 24

New River Valley Community Services is sponsoring a seminar titled, "Laughter: Prescription for Survival," in recognition of May is Mental Health Month.

Laughter is believed to have many effects on mental health. The seminar will discuss the benefits of laughter, the mind-body connection and practical ways to bring laughter into your life.

It will be presented May 24, 1-3:30 p.m., at the Blacksburg Holiday Inn.

Joyce Anisman-Saltman, a special education professor at Southern Connecticut State University and a therapist in private practice, will lead the seminar.

She also has performed nationally as a stand-up comic.

The cost for the seminar is $10 per person.
