Nellie "Ma" Watts Fainter, 85, died May 14, 1990 in a Buena Vista Nursing Home. She was born in Rockbridge County, December 2, 1904, the daughter of the late Thomas Nelson Watts; and Fannie O'Neil Watts and was the widow of John F. Fainter. She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ileta Rogers of Buena Vista; Mrs. Ruby Thompson, and Mrs. Bernice Slough, both of Glasgow; Mrs. Emilie Franklin, Winchester; two sons, Curtis F. Fainter, Big Island; Fred O. Fainter, Glasgow; one sister, Mrs. Mildred W. Meadows, Waynesboro; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Glasgow Baptist Church by the Rev. William Thomas. Burial will follow in Glasgow Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Lomax Funeral Home, Buena Vista.
