Mrs. Betty Jo Ballard McDaniel, 63, of Virginia Beach, died Monday in a Virginia Beach hospital. Mrs. McDaniel was a retired clerk-stenographer from the Norfolk-Western Railway Company and was a Protestant. She is survived by her husband, Hastel C. McDaniel of Virginia Beach; two daughters, Karen M. Legg and Betsy M. Perez, both of Virginia Beach; her mother, Mrs. Thelma S. Ballard of Pearisburg; four sisters, Nina B. Hughett and Jane B. Overton, both of Pulaski; Irene B. Dunford of Pearisburg; and Billie Ruth Jones, of Bladinsburg, Md.; two brothers, Carl S. Ballard of Midlothian; and Fred Ballard of South Carolina; three grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. from the First Baptist Church of Norfolk with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth N. Hemphill officiating. Interment will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 at Smith & Williams Kempsville Chapel, 4889 Princess Anne Rd., Virginia Beach.
