COLLEGE PRESIDENT NAMED TO COMMISSION

President Ruth Mercedes Smith of Mountain Empire Community College has been named to the Commission on Small and/or Rural Colleges of the American Association of Community and Junior Colleges.

Her term will start in July and run through June 1993. The commission studies the needs and problems of small or rural colleges and suggests actions to meet them.
