The Hokies, who open play in the Metro Conference Tournament against Memphis State today at 11 a.m. in Hattiesburg, Miss., placed senior third baseman Len Wentz and senior outfielder Rod Emmons on the first team. Pitcher Mike Williams, who will start today's tournament opener for the Hokies, made the second team after recording a 10-3 record.
Wentz was one of just two repeaters - Florida State junior speedster Marc Ronan is the other - on the first team. After leading the Metro for most of the season, Wentz finished with a .376 average and seven home runs. Emmons had eight homers, 51 RBI and batted .333.
