AIR FORCE SHOWS DESIGN OF NEW STEALTH FIGHTER

The Air Force on Tuesday released artists' drawings of its newest stealth fighter jet, lifting some of the secrecy surrounding the embattled $63.5 billion aircraft program.

Prototypes of the Advanced Tactical Fighter, designed to counter sophisticated Soviet air defenses, are scheduled for their first flights within a few months, according to Air Force officials.
