FIELDER, MOORMAN O.

Moorman Oscar (Tony) Fielder, age 67, of Rt. 2, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 1990, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Salem. He was born May 11, 1923, in Bedford County; a son of the late Oscar P. Fielder and Elsie Aliff Fielder. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Ellis Fielder and a brother, Bruce Fielder. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church. He is survived by two daughters, Judy F. Byrd Hurt; Patty F. Byrd, Gretna; four brothers, James A. Fielder, Vinton; Brady L. Fielder, Moneta; Jessee L. Fielder; and J. Hugh Fielder, both of Bedford; six sisters, Nellie Ferguson, Altavista; Kathleen Falls; Pearl Kendrick; and Linda Tuck, all of Bedford; Frances Rader, Vinton; Maydean Ellis, Moneta; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 18, 1990 at 2:00 p.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford, by the Rev. Alfred Duncan. Interment will be in Morgans Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
