Mrs. Mary Moore Holyfield, age 96, of Clearwater, Fla., formerly of Roanoke, died Tuesday, May 15, 1990. She was married 65 plus years and was married on January 21, 1925. She was a 50 year member and married at Second Presbyterian Church, Roanoke. She was the past president of Mountain View Garden Club. She was born in Bradshaw, lived in Roanoke 83 years. She moved to Clearwater, Fla. in 1977. She also attended Roanoke College. She is survived by her husband, William G. Holyfield; son and daughter-in-law, William G., Jr. and Polly Perry Holyfield, Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Mrs. C. R. (Roberta) Fichtenger, Lynchburg; grandchildren, Mrs. Sarah H. Hansel, Jacksonville, Fla.; William G. Holyfield, III, Charlotte, N.C.; great-grandson, Alexander Stephen Hansel, Jacksonville, Fla.; step great-grandchildren, Derrick, Andrew, Paula Hansel, all of Jacksonville, Fla. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday at Sherwood Memorial Park with Dr. William R. Klein officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Fund, Second Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity. Local arrangements by John M. Oakey & Son.
