ROANOKE PUBLIC LIBRARY HONORS 29 VOLUNTEERS

The Roanoke Public Library system honored its 29 registered volunteers recently at a reception.

Betty Dalton, a volunteer in the main library book store, was honored for donating the most hours, 331, during the year. Her name has been added to the "Volunteer of the Year" plaque, which is displayed in the main library.

Also honored were Lois Akers, who has been a volunteer at the Raleigh Court branch since 1973, and William Pace, who began working in the main library's Virginia Room in 1975.

All volunteers were given certificates, library book bags and bookmarks.
