CITIZENS' GROUP BACKS BEDFORD LANDFILL SITE

The Citizens' Advisory Committee, appointed two years ago by the supervisors to help in the choice, endorsed the same site - eight miles southwest of Bedford at Virginia 807 and Virginia 24 - the county's consultants had recommended last week.

Two committee members favored a second site containing 363 acres along Virginia 43 seven miles south of Bedford. The supervisors are expected to choose between the two sites Tuesday. - Staff report
