Claude Junior Slagle, age 63, died May 20, 1990, in a Lexington hospital. He was retired from the AFL-CIO and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Wars. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Glennis Mason Slagle; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Sloan, Verona; Mrs. Carolyn Birch, Mrs. Shena Tomlin, and Mrs. Melissa Groah, all of Buena Vista; five sons, Edward Slagle, Keith Slagle, Timothy Slagle, Terry Slagle and Jason Slagle, all of Buena Vista; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl and Mary Slagle, Buena Vista; one sister, Mrs. Arlene Hayslette, Buena Vista; three brothers, Lee Slagle, Robert Slagle and Arnold Slagle, all of Buena Vista; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Lomax Funeral Home by the Rev. Sam Toombs and the Rev. Claude Floyd. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
