MAN CHARGED WITH ABDUCTION, BEATING

Police have arrested a Christiansburg man and charged him with abducting and beating a woman at Bissett Park during the day Saturday.

Michael David Fithian, 22, of the Nugget Ridge Apartments in Christiansburg was charged Saturday with abduction, assault and battery and attempted robbery. He was being held Sunday at the Radford City Jail, according to Sgt. J.F. Lawson.

Details were sketchy and police refused to release any further information Sunday.
