\ BOONES MILL - Stefan Darrell Helms, age 27, of Rt. 1, died Saturday, May 19. He is survived by one son, Christopher Lee Penn, Boones Mill; his mother, Mrs. Edith M. Helms, Penhook; his father, Yewell O. Helms, Sr., Boones Mill; three sisters, Mrs. Venessa Trotter, Ferrum; Ms. Coral Helms, Rocky Mount; Ms. April Helms, Penhook; four brothers, Yewell O. Helms, Jr., Penhook; Steven J. Helms, Boones Mill; John D. Helms; Lamar E. Helms, both of Penhook; his maternal grandparents, Mrs. Gladys Minor, Roanoke; Fred Minor, Sr., Roanoke; his parental grandmother, Mrs. Emma Helms, Boones Mill; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Rising Sun Baptist Church with the Rev. R.D. Wade officiating. Friends may call at Stanfield Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Interment in the church cemetery.
