Garney Buford Conner, age 72, of 5183 Yellow Mountain Rd., passed away Monday in a local hospital. Surviving are his wife, Ruby M. Conner, Roanoke; son, Damon (Tony) Conners, Stewartsville; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Gary Jones, Elliston; seven grandchildren; one brother, Namon (Bae) Conner, Bent Mountain; three sisters, Alma Chocklett; Thelma Clingenpeel, both of Roanoke; Velma Thompson, Salem. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's South Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. John Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in the Conner Family Cemetery. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's South Chapel.
