Basil Newton Richardson, age 56, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Narrows, died Sunday, May 20, 1990. He was born in Narrows, Va., on August 24, 1933, a son of Mrs. Iona Payne Richardson, of Rt. 2, Narrows; and the late Clarence Richardson. He was a Korean War veteran having served in the U.S. Navy for ten years. In addition to his mother, he is survived by five brothers, Gene Richardson, Greenville, Va.; Thomas Richardson, Flint, Mich.; Jimmy Richardson, Bridgewater, Va.; Johnny Richardson, Houston, Texas; Donald Richardson, Flint, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Maxine Reeves, Bridgewater, Va.; Mrs. Eunice Chaney, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Karen Kenworthy, Flint, Mich.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Sophia Richardson, Lynchburg, Va. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Riffe's Funeral Chapel, Narrows, with the Rev. M. B. Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
