Stella Elizabeth Sutphin Hansford, age 90, of 212 North Jefferson Ave., Pulaski, died Wednesday, May 23, 1990, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born in Carroll County on September 16, 1899, and was the daughter of the late John Thomas Sutphin and Samantha Tolbert Sutphin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hickman Hansford. She was a former employee of the Dobson Hosery Mills of Pulaski. Surviving are one daughter, Donnie H. Johnson, Pulaski; one son, John William Hansford, Pulaski; one sister, Ethel Sutphin Warden, Pulaski; one nephew and three nieces. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, at 2:00 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C. Maynard Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be Thursday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
