Sylvester Stallone says this summer's "Rocky V" will be the last in the series because there is nothing more to say about the not-so-talkative palooka.

"I have no more to say about the character, which is my alter ego, I can't deny that," Stallone said.

So what's ahead for Stallone?

"Right now," he said, "we're doing something ecological, which is the theme of the 1990s. Then I'd like to do a comedy."

\ Marlon Brando spoke of his family's "acute misery" after a judge refused to set bail for his son, who is charged with murdering his half-sister's boyfriend.

"There's no way to describe it to you unless you've gone through it in your life. We must just be strong, and the family, with love and supporting each other, will prevail," the reclusive actor told reporters.

The white-haired Brando sat in the front row of a packed Los Angeles courtroom and stared straight ahead as his son, Christian, was brought in.

William Kunstler, the civil rights attorney summoned by the elder Brando to defend his son, said the shooting of Dag Drollet, 26, at the Brando estate last week was an accident and that Christian Brando was drunk at the time.

Christian Brando, 32, is a welder and tree-trimmer. Drollet was the boyfriend of Cheyenne Brando, 20.

\ Kathleen Turner will transfer her smoldering performance as Maggie in the stage version of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" to the small screen.

ABC said that no date has been set for the start of production. The play will air next season.

Turner, nominated for a Tony for her role in the Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams' play, has starred in such films as "Body Heat," "Peggy Sue Got Married" and "The Accidental Tourist."

The production was among 11 new TV movie projects announced by ABC.

\ Dan Rather returned to Texas this week to anchor the news from a station where he spent his early reporting years.

Rather was scheduled to anchor the "CBS Evening News" from the Houston's KHOU-TV studios on Wednesday and today, the station said.
