PARENTS TO HELP PAY FIELD-TRIP INJURIES BILLS

Parents of 15 children who suffered minor injuries in a school bus crash May 9 could end up paying at least part of the medical costs for treatment.

Superintendent James W. Moyers Jr. has asked parents to submit medical bills to their own insurance companies before seeking payment from the school's insurer.

If parents' insurance companies don't cover the entire cost, Moyers said parents could then submit the outstanding balance to the school division for consideration.

The School Board May 16 approved a measure stating the school system would pay the unpaid balances the parents' insurance companies wouldn't pay.
