JAPAN TO AID SEARCH FOR HUMAN GENE CODES

Japan will allow U.S. researchers to use its most advanced computer technology in their bid to map human genetic codes, according to sources at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.

The request was made by the U.S. Argonne National Laboratory, based in Illinois, which is involved in the 15-year, $3 billion Human Genome Project to discover all combinations of nucleic acids that comprise DNA - the building blocks of human genes.
