COVERAGE BIASED OF PRO-LIFE RALLY

I WAS very disappointed in your coverage (or lack of it) of the Pro-Life Rally '90 on April 28.

I attended the rally in Washington, D.C. Your reporting was very biased against pro-life advocates, even though most of the bias was subtle. The main error was your report of 200,000, when in fact there were 500,000-plus, in attendance.

We were told by the National Park Service that if we filled a certain area, it would accommodate 500,000. That area was filled (packed, I might add), plus there were more people in the surrounding areas.

I am certainly sorry that you have chosen to be so prejudiced against so many Americans who support the position of giving the unborn a choice.

Editor's note: Assistant Managing Editor Rich Martin addressed the crowd-estimate issue in a Commentary Page column on the Sunday after the rally.
