SALEM SHOPPING CENTER SITE FOR NEW CAFETERIA

Construction will begin next month on a K&W Cafeteria at the Westgate Shopping Center in West Salem, a K&W official said Tuesday.

Leo Sasaki, vice president of finance and administration for K&W Cafeteria Inc., said the 10,500-square-foot cafeteria will be the company's third in the Roanoke Valley and its 24th in the Carolinas and Virginia.

K&W operates cafeterias at both the Crossroads Mall in Northwest Roanoke and at Tanglewood Mall in Southwest Roanoke County.

"We decided on one in Salem because of the popularity of the other two," Sasaki said.

Construction of the K&W in Salem is expected to be completed in November, Sasaki said.
