NO DESIRE TO BE PART OF CONSOLIDATED CITY

I JUST finished reading the article, "Catawba could join Salem." Will the votes from this part of the county, which possibly will be votes to join Salem, unwillingly put me in the new consolidated city?

In all fairness, the only votes that should be counted for consolidation are the ones to end up being annexed into Roanoke City.

I bought my house because it is in Roanoke County. I paid more for my house than I would have paid for a larger home in Roanoke City. Now, because of the great "wisdom" of Steve McGraw, Dick Robers and Lee Eddy, I may end up living in the "great" consolidated government.

This kind of fiasco makes me wonder what these three have to gain from consolidation. Perhaps they are all just looking for a way to climb further up the ladder of their political careers.

I will do everything within my power to remain in Roanoke County. I hope the people in Catawba do the same.
