EROSION PROBLEMS HALT PEBBLE CREEK WORK

Bedford County officials have halted work on a lake subdivision because of problems with erosion and sediment control.

R.L. Tomlin Construction will not be allowed to continue its work on Pebble Brook off Virginia 853 until it removes deposits already left in the lake and revises its formal plan for preventing such deposits, said Community Development planner Jeff Burdett.

Burdett said the company was working to clean up some of the problems last week. The county took action to stop construction after receiving a complaint from a citizen.
