YOUTHS FACE CHARGES FOR VANDALISM SPREE

Five young people between the ages of 11 and 13 will face more than 70 charges stemming from acts of vandalism occurring May 11 and causing about $1,500 in damage.

Charges include destruction of property, breaking and entering and trespassing.

A number of buildings, cars, road signs and parts of streets in Independence were sprayed with paint which police think may have been taken in a break-in at a builders' supply store here. - Southwest bureau
