OBIT MARTIN, D.

Dick Slater Martin, age 80, died Friday, May 25, 1990, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Martin was a retired employee of the Hoechst-Celanese Corporation. He was born in Hot Springs, Va., December 27, 1909, and was a son of the late Alexander and Arminda Smith Martin. He is survived by his wife, Mable K. Martin, Pearisburg; two sons, Charles Richard Martin, Salem; Roger Lee Martin, Peterstown, W.Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Dunn, Pearisburg; one brother, Walter Martin, Tazewell; three sisters, Catherine O'Neil, Alexandria; Hattie Shadler, Elkins, W.Va.; Edith Thornton; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Givins Funeral Chapel with Dr. Fred Austin officiating with burial in Birchlawn Burial Park. Friends may call at the Givins Funeral Home Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
