\ BOONES MILL - Mrs. Mary E. Pugh Abshire, age 87, of Dogwood Lane, Boones Mill, died Sunday, May 27, 1990, in a Roanoke hospital. She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church. Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Virginia Craighead, Mrs. Winnie Belle Jamison, Mrs. Elsie Webb, and Mrs. Mary Cundiff, all of Roanoke; Mrs. Pearl Clingenpeel and Mrs. Maude Beckner, both of Boones Mill; four sons, Russell Pugh, Boones Mill; Ralph Pugh, Roanoke; James Pugh, Bloomington, Ind.; Larry Pugh, Matthews, N. C.; two stepsons, J. Donald Abshire, and Jhonny Abshire, both of Boones Mill; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Claudine Mizak, Boones Mill; Mrs. Janet Williams, Roanoke; thirty-seven grandchildren, fifty-two great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Elga Draper, Roanoke; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Overfelt, Boones Mill. Funeral services will be conducted at the Grace Brethren Church 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. J. Donald Abshire, the Rev. Jacob Webb and the Rev. Ralph Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home.
