Consider what might happen should we wean ourselves from the TV set:
Relationships would improve. If we would spend more time playing with our children and communicating with one another, we may find joy in families.
We might learn something. One alternative to television is reading; learning does not stop with the completion of formal education.
I challenge the families of the Roanoke Valley to give up television, and see how life will be different.
So what if we can't discuss the plot of "L.A. Law"? We may find ourselves investing in something far more valuable.
