TIMESLAND TEAMS VIE FOR STATE CROWNS

Seven Timesland teams will be going for Virginia High School League championships in softball and baseball starting today.

In baseball, Grayson County, which won the Region C championship, is at home today at 4 p.m. against J.I. Burton.

Alleghany (Group AA) and Bath County (Group A) are on the road. Alleghany plays at Virginia High at 7:30 p.m., and Bath County is at St. Paul at 7 p.m.

Four Timesland teams are in state softball tournaments.

Defending Group A champion Glenvar plays host to St. Paul, and Parry McCluer travels to Honaker. Both games are scheduled for 5 p.m.

In Group AA, Salem goes to Poquoson tonight at 7. The Spartans lost to the same team 2-1 in last year's semifinals. Lord Botetourt has a bye and will play in the semifinals Friday.
