`KIDS' FOR YOUTH A TERM OF DISRESPECT

I CANNOT understand why adults insist on addressing our youth as "kids." Teachers, ministers, even athletic coaches address the members of their teams as "kids." Now our president has joined those groups using that salutation!

Encyclopedias describe "kids" as baby goats that eat and drink just anything. That just about describes a great number of our young people today. They are living in an environment adults have created for them. What can our nation expect of them unless they are treated with more respect?
