OBIT CARTER, C.

Carl B. Carter, age 84, of Rt., 1 Blue Ridge, died Monday at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby W. Carter. He was a longtime active member of Glade Creek Baptist Church and was retired from the Norfolk & Western Railway East End Shops, and was an Army veteran. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Thelma C. and Marvin E. Carson, Roanoke; a son and daughter-in-law, Barney (Barry) R. and Barbara D. Carter, Villamont; three grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Glade Creek Baptist Church 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 1990 with the Rev. Philip E. Ayers officiating. Burial will be in Glade Creek Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to Glade Creek Baptist Church or the Blue Ridge Rescue Squad.
