AIDS WRITER ATTACKED BY TWO IN RESTAURANT

A man who writes a newspaper column about his daily struggles with AIDS was thrown through a restaurant window, police said.

Clifford Moyers, who writes a "Living with AIDS" column in the Columbia Tribune each Sunday, was hospitalized in stable condition, police said.

Moyers said he was discussing gay rights with friends at a restaurant early Sunday when men at a neighboring table "started making `faggot' remarks against us."

Two men were arrested and released on bond.
