OBIT MCMANAWAY, C.

Charles M. McManaway, age 83, of Roanoke, died Wednesday in a Salem hospital. He was retired from Norfolk & Western Railway. He was a veteran of World War II and was awarded the Legion of Merit. He is survived by his former wife, Mrs. Zaman McManaway; three daughters, Mrs. Phyllis M. Woodson, Virginia Beach; Dr. Mary E. McManaway, Rockville, Md.; Mrs. Linda M. McCraw, Dublin; one brother, Edwin McManaway, Bedford; four sisters, Mrs. Frances Link, Mrs. Lois Rieley, both of Thaxton; Mrs. Virginia Flournoy, Mrs. Helen Wood, both of Charleston, W.Va.; one grandchild, Ellen E. Woodson, Virginia Beach. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 1 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel with Rev. H. Kelly Dampeer, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. The D.A.V. will conduct military rites. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the Lotz Salem Chapel.
