James Everett Bradley, age 74, of Narrows, died Friday in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville. He was born in Salem, Va. on August 30, 1915, and was the son of the late Lewis Everett and Cora Elizabeth Mills Bradley. He was a retired foreman for the Horechst-Celanese Fiber Company Plant at Narrows. He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Christian Men's Fellowship and a member of the Intermont Lodge #269 of Narrows and the Veterans of Foreign War, Post #6000 of Narrows. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U. S. Navy. Survivors include his wife, Mae W. Bradley of Narrows; three sons, James W. Bradley, Anderson Ind.; Lewis N. Bradley, Reston, Va.; David E. Bradley, Keflavik, Iceland; one daughter, Vicky E. Woodson, Bettendorf, Iowa; one sister, Irene Wolfenbarger, Salem, Va.; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Narrows with the Rev. Jack Musick officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 at Riffe's Funeral Home.
