DOWDY, LAKE H.\ Lake Hypes Dowdy, age 84, died Friday, June 1, 1990, in the Smyth County Community Hospital. She was the widow of John Garland Dowdy and is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna and J. B. Ratliff of Marion; a granddaughter, Susan Kilby, Marion; two grandsons, Michael Ratliff, Gray, Tenn.; Stephen Ratliff, Smyrna, Tenn.; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lucille Dowdy and Vannie Williams, both of Christiansburg. The funeral will be 2:00 p.m. Monday from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Fred Austin and the Rev. Alan Shupe with burial in Sunset Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday and Monday at the funeral home and the family will receive friends there from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening.
