BLACKSBURG HIGH TOPS IN NEW COMPETITION

Blacksburg High School is one of three state winners, and Salem High School and George Wythe High School of Wytheville placed near the top in the Central Fidelity Cup athletic and academic competition.

Blacksburg was first, Salem second and George Wythe fourth in Group AA of the Virginia High School Athletic League.

One cup will be given for athletics and one for academic programs to the first-place winner in each of the three groups.

Central Fidelity Bank and the league are sponsoring the new competition.
