FATHER DROPS HIS FIGHT FOR DAUGHTER'S CUSTODY

Dr. Eric Foretich said Tuesday he has not abandoned his fight to gain visiting rights to his daughter, who lives in New Zealand with her mother.

"I just feel it's better for her [Hilary] that I don't engage in a full-blown court battle," Foretich said. "Let the immigration officials in New Zealand decide."

"The case is proceeding in the family court," Foretich's New Zealand attorney told the New Zealand Press Association Tuesday night.

Foretich earlier told a correspondent in Washington that he was giving up the custody battle.
