MICHAELS, ABC-TV AGREE ON SIX-YEAR, $15 MILLION CONTRACT

Two days after calling off their arbitration hearing, Al Michaels and ABC-TV reached an agreement on a six-year, $15 million contract.

"It's a good feeling," Michaels said. "Now I can get on with life. It's all history now. I've always been someone who looks ahead, and there's no better time to do that than right now."

In March, ABC Sports president Dennis Swanson suspended Michaels for two weeks without pay because Michaels' teen-age daughter worked as a runner for ABC at a figure-skating event in Salt Lake City in February.

Michaels then filed a grievance with the American Federation of Radio and Television Artists, seeking to be released from his ABC contract. He reportedly was seeking CBS' No. 1 baseball play-by-play job, left vacant when Brent Musberger's contract was not renewed.
