They expected a message of advice and inspiration - and they got it! Besides taking care of her husband, she is a mother and grandmother and still finds the time to volunteer despite her health problems. Most of the upstarts can't do anything, and according to Marcellus Andrews (a professor of economics), don't even know what they want.
Evidently they have learned nothing at Wellesley - not even manners. I think they were very rude, and since they want success, would do well to follow Barbara Bush's advice.
