C.E. (Bill) Wheeler, age 79, of Roanoke, died Friday, June 8, 1990, at Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley. He was retired from Salt, Marsh, Cleveland, Gunn, Certified Public Accounting Firm, Pensacola, Fla. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose No. 284 and a certified director of the American Contract Bridge League. He was a native of Covington, Ky. and was a graduate of Huntington High School and Marshall College, Huntington, W.Va. He is survived by his wife, Mary Etta Wheeler; three sons, Charles E. Wheeler, Irvin, Calif.; James David Wheeler, Englewood, N.J.; Robert Watson Wheeler, Salem; one daughter, Julia May Wheeler Chivily, Manakin, Va.; one niece, Julia Ann Schoening, Laurenberg, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Lotz Salem Chapel Monday, June 11, 1990, at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Robert T. Copenhaver officiating. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart Association or to the charity of your choice. Friends may call at the Lotz Salem Chapel where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday.
