Ralph L. (Barnie) Barnes, age 62, of 1507 16th St., N.W., passed away Friday in a local hospital. Survivors include his wife, Roberta Kay (Payne) Barnes, Roanoke; a daughter, Annette Hairston of Jersey City, N.J.; two stepdaughters, Rebecca Francis and Regina Rice, both of Washington, D.C.; four brothers, Roy Barnes, James Barnes, Howard Barnes, all of Roanoke; and William Barnes of New York; three sisters, Cecelia Brower, Washington, D.C.; Danise Burks and Alese Dunnaville, both of Roanoke; four brothers-in-law, Norman Brower, Bruce Burks, Robert Payne, Jr., William Morris, all of Roanoke; sisters-in-law, Shirley Barnes, Dot Barnes, Barbara Morris, Dorothy Hampton, Pauline Barnes; father-in-law, Robert Payne, Sr.; very devoted friends of the family, Joe and Diane Ross; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with Dr. M. T. Coker and Elder R. K. Ingram officiating. Burial in Williams Memorial Park. Friends may call Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:00 at the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel.
