Laura Phillips Boitnott, age 89, of Route 2, Boones Mill, died Friday, June 8, 1990. She was the widow of Henry J. Boitnott. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell and Virginia Holt Boitnott, Orlin and Janice Boone Boitnott, all of Boones Mill; two daughters and son-in-law, Joann Boitnott, Boones Mill; Lillian and Michael Doughty, Blacksburg; four grandchildren, Betsy Dennis, Chris Boitnott, Julie and David Doughty; a great-grandson, Justin Holt Boitnott; one stepbrother, Chester More, Florida; one stepsister, Oneta Weybright, Florida; one stepgrandson, Timothy Jeter; a brother-in-law and his wife, Dr. John and Nell Boitnott, Bridgewater; four sisters-in-law, Maude Boitnott, Ella Gates, both of Roanoke; Gladys Boitnott, Beckley, W.Va.; LaVerne Phillips, Crossville, Tenn. Funeral services will be held at Cedar Bluff Church of the Brethren Monday, June 11, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jodie Hendricks and the Rev. Maurice Wright officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Park, Franklin County. The family suggests donations be made to the Boones Mill Fire Department or Rescue Squad or Cedar Bluff Church of the Brethren Building Fund. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel.
