HEAD-ON COLLISION KILLS COLLINSVILLE WOMAN

Stacey Rolley Hartman, 23, appeared to be searching for something on the floor of her car, crossed the center line and hit an oncoming vehicle, a witness told state police. Hartman was dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, Allen Keith Prater, 31, also of Collinsville, was taken to Martinsville Memorial Hospital and was listed in satisfactory condition Monday night.

The witness, David Dowell, was traveling two cars behind Prater and was not involved in the accident, Trooper Robert Dillon said.

The collision occurred about 8 a.m. on U.S. 58 less than a mile from its intersection with the U.S. 220 bypass five miles west of Martinsville. Hartman was a health department worker.
