Walker Edward Campbell, Sr., age 75, passed away Monday, June 11, 1990, in a Richmond hospital. He had taught school in Floyd County for 38 years and was a graduate of Virginia State College and received further education at Virginia Tech and East Carolina State College. He was a member of Mt. Zion Christian Church. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Walker E., Jr., and Garnette Campbell, Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Miles R. Cunningham, Richmond; three sisters, Alma Gilliam and Catherine Moore, both of Christiansburg; Fannie Mae Turner, Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Aubrey Henderson, Jr., Tracey J. Campbell and Angela M. Campbell; one granddaughter-in-law, Cliftonia Henderson. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. C. L. Brown, the Rev. Thomas Parker and the Rev. W. L. Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Floyd Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Maberry Funeral Home.
