SAN ANTONIO JOINS BAN ON RAP ALBUM

Record store managers pulled an album by the rap group 2 Live Crew from their shelves after police warned they risked arrest for obscenity.

Detectives set out Tuesday to notify 84 stores that the lyrics of the 1.7 million-selling album "As Nasty As They Wanna Be" are obscene, vice squad commander Lt. Jerry Pittman said.

The action extends what had been a Florida-based campaign by anti-pornography crusaders upset by the album's references to sex acts and genitals. A federal judge in Florida last week declared the record obscene.
