STARS PLAY TONIGHT AT DEDMON CENTER

The Five-Star Basketball Camp at Radford University will culminate tonight with all-star games in the NBA, NCAA and NIT divisions.

The NCAA and NIT all-star games begin at 6:30 p.m., with the NBA all-star game scheduled for 8:30, although the first game usually runs long.

Top players in the camp include 6-foot guard Cory Alexander from Waynesboro and 6-4 Jimmy King from Plano, Texas. Other players who recently made a list of the top 40 preseason prospects in the country are 6-7 Sidney Shelton from Washington, D.C., and 5-11 Jo Jo Outlaw from the Bronx, N.Y., by way of Cheshire (Conn.) Academy.

Top big men include 6-10 Wilfred Kirkaldy from Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson and 6-8 Malik Evans from Willowridge, Texas. Danny Hurley, a 6-1 guard from Jersey City, N.J., is the brother of Duke guard Bobby Hurley.

The NBA All-Star game features the top rising seniors and juniors, although Greg Williams, a 6-2 guard who will be a sophomore at Woodson High in Fairfax, was chosen to play in the top division.
