FUNDING FOR PLUMBING EXPLAINED

Local-government agencies in Virginia and non-profit organizations seeking funds to install indoor plumbing and bathrooms for needy people can attend a series of workshops on how to apply.

The workshops will be held this month to explain the application process and criteria.

A June 25 workshop is in Spotsylvania at the Spotsylvania Administration Building 1-4 p.m.

A June 26 workshop is at the Central Library on Jefferson Street in Roanoke 1-4 p.m.

A June 28 workshop is in Emporia at Council Chambers 1-4 p.m.

Government agencies and non-profit organizations will submit their applications to a local administrator, said John Baker, director of the Indoor Plumbing Program, which will supply the funds.

Those administrators will be chosen in August.

Call the Department of Housing and Community Development in Richmond for more information at (804) 786-7891.
