\ WYTHEVILLE - Peggy Harrell Johnson of Wytheville, Va., died Thursday, June 14, 1990, in the Wythe County Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 17, 1990, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wytheville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Sproule and the Rev. Samuel McCammon officiating. Interment will be in the West End Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was born in Pulaski County, Va. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Franklin Harrell, Sr. and Lettie Burke Harrell. She was preceded in death by a brother, Thurman Winfred Harrell. She was a member of the Wytheville Presbyterian Church and a member of Circle No. 4, a past president of the Jr. Womans' Club, a past president of the Wytheville Lady Golfers and was retired from the Social Security Administration. She is survived by her husband, Willis P. "Petey" Johnson; three sisters, Mrs. R.A. (Thelma H.) Hudson, Sr.; Ms. Lettie Marie Harrell, both of Pulaski, Va.; Mrs. James R. (Betty H.) Hurst of Dublin, Va.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Samuel F. & Dora P. Harrell of Dublin, Va.; Robert A. & Nellie B. Harrell of Pulaski, Va.; and Mrs. Guida Quesenberry Harrell; seven nieces and four nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday. The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to the Wythe County Rescue Squad, the American Heart Fund or to the Cancer Patient Support Group, Bowman Gray Hospital, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville, Va. is in charge of the arrangements.
