\ ROCKY MOUNT - Mrs. Mavis LaPrade Powell, age 61, of Route 7, Rocky Mount, died Friday, June 15, 1990, in the local hospital. SHe is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Neal and Lorie LaPrade of Myrtle Beach, S. C.; Roger Lee LaPrade of Rocky Mount; one granddaughter, Jennifer Nicole LaPrade of Myrtle Beach, S. C.; five brothers, Mr. Charles Beckner, Mr. Leonard Beckner, Mr. Raymond Beckner, Mr. Robert (Bud) Beckner and Mr. Henry (Dewey) Beckner, all of Rocky Mount; three sisters, Mrs. Alice McGuire of Rocky Mount; Mrs. Becky Sink of Roanoke; and Mrs. Judy Young of Rocky Mount; several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Gertrude Young of Rocky Mount. Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Randy Rigney. Burial will follow in the Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home of Rocky Mount.
