Music festival

The Blue Ridge Music Festival at Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg begins Sunday with a performance by The Monticello Trio. The trio will present a concert of classical chamber music at 7 p.m.

Other highlights of the festival will include: Jazz Film Night, Monday, 8 p.m.; Stephanie Jutt, Ray Luck and The Monticello Cello, Tuesday, 8 p.m.; Festival Artists Concert, Wednesday, 8 p.m.; Pieranunzi Jazz Trio, Thursday, 8 p.m.; student concert, Friday, 8 p.m.; and Robin and Linda Williams, June 23, 4 p.m., followed by Clarence Sykes & the All-Star Gospel Chorus.

With the exception of June 23 performances at The Dell, concerts will be held in Thoresen Theater. Series tickets are $50, adults; $35, students and seniors. Individual tickets are $10, adults; $6, students and seniors.

Father's Day Follies

The Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre at Ferrum College is offering a special Father's Day presentation of "Follies" by Larry Goldstein, vaudevillian and mime. The matinee begins with dinner at 1:15 p.m., followed by "Follies" at 2:15 p.m.

Goldstein's show is a revue combining stand-up, sit-down and physical comedy and song. He is a longtime performer with the Virginia Commission for the Arts and has appeared at Wolf Trap and at Elelin Theater in New York.

Cost of dinner and performance is $10 for adults, $5 for children under 14. Performance alone is $5 for adults, $2 for children under 14. Reservations can be made by calling 365-4335.

Showtimers auditions

Showtimers production of "The Fantasticks" will open Aug. 9, in place of the formerly scheduled "Romance, Romance."

Auditions for "The Fantasticks" will be held at the Showtimers Studio, 1431 McVitty Road, on Sunday at 7 p.m. The cast of this popular musical comedy includes six men and three women, and there are three non-singing roles. All interested persons are invited to audition. For more information, call 345-0901.

Lynchburg Fine Arts

The 1990-91 Performing Arts Season has been announced by the Performing Arts Division of the Lynchburg Fine Arts Center. The new lineup includes "The Wizard of Oz," July 27-29 and Aug. 3-5; "Oklahoma!" Sept. 21-23 and 28-30; "Arsenic and Old Lace," Nov. 2-4 and 9-11; "Come, They Told Me," Christmas concert, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1; "The Nutcracker," Dec. 7-9 and 14-16; "Ain't Misbehavin'," Feb.1-3 and 8-10; "Noises Off," March 15-17 and 22-24; "Cinderella," The Ballet, April 19-21 and 26-28; "What's on Broadway" spring concert, May 3-4; and "Fiddler on the Roof," May 17-19 and 24-26.
