FLEMING'S NAME PLACED IN BAD LIGHT

YOU HAD an interesting headline June 2: "Ex-Fleming grid star faces 40 years." Was this headline used because he had attended William Fleming? He also played professional football. Your headline could have read: "Ex-Philadelphia Eagle player faces 40 years."

This man graduated at least 15 years ago! Why include Fleming's name in the headline about his misdeeds? You purposely chose to place William Fleming's name in a negative light.

The same paper contained articles on other Roanoke citizens involved in various offenses. They were charged with murder, assault, even murder for hire. Why weren't these offenders' former high schools in the headlines? Is it because they did not attend William Fleming?

William Fleming is a good school. It has good students who work and study hard to achieve their goals. They did not deserve this.

This is not the first time this has happened, but I believe it should be the last.
